For the development, realisation and distribution of artistically high-quality, immersive and/or interactive media productions by both independent and established producers.
The Immerse\Interact Grant Scheme is a collaboration between the Creative Industries Fund NL and the Netherlands Film Fund. The goal is to enhance cross-overs, including in digital culture, film and design, between both funds. Immerse\Interact explores the future of storytelling within the world of immersive media, like VR, MR and AR. Interactive media productions can also be supported.
The grant scheme is open to projects initiated by professional makers, collectives and producers. The applicant has a demonstrable track record in the field of immersive and interactive media and is listed in the register of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. The level of the amount applied for depends on the applicant’s main activity.
Grant applications can be for artistic projects with a supporting cinematic component, in which storytelling, both fiction and non-fiction, in relation to interactive (web-based/mobile) or immersive technologies (XR, room-scale projections), is central.
Within Immerse\Interact, a grant can be provided for both development and realisation. Per round, a development contribution can be allocated to a maximum of six project proposals. This is to maintain the balance in the development and realisation budget within the round.
The contribution is meant for research implementation, optimization of an artistic concept and other preparatory activities prior to the actual production phase. The result of the development phase is a usable prototype.

When you draw up your budget and finance plan, we advise you to use the Fund’s Budget and Finance Plan Format or the Netherlands Film Fund’s Budget Template.
Do you have any specific questions about your project proposal? You can present a draft to the employees of this grant scheme via immerseinteract@stimuleringsfonds.nl two weeks before the closing date, at the latest.
Applications are assessed by the scheme’s advisory committee. This is done based on the criteria below, as explained in more detail in the Immerse\Interact Grant Scheme.

When you have submitted your application, the Fund Desk will check to see whether your application complies with the formal requirements of the Immerse\Interact Grant Scheme.
An independent advisory committee will assess your application based on the Immerse\Interact Grant Scheme. The committee issues its advice to the Fund’s board.
If the total amount requested in the applications eligible for funding exceeds the budget available for the grant round in question, prioritisation will take place.
The board takes account of the committee’s advice in its decision to reject or provide the grant. You will be notified of the result by means of a decision.
If you receive a grant from the Fund you also have to comply with the obligations. Two weeks before the conclusion of your project, you will be asked by email to submit your accountability form in the application environment.
