An external selection committee appointed by the board, consisting of up to three external members, selects the candidate member for the Fund's various advisory committees. Candidate members are recruited publically and apply for the advisor position within an advisory committee. Preventing conflicts of interest is an important criterion.

The Fund works with an advisory committee for appeals, appointed by the executive director. The committee is recruited externally on the basis of profiles drawn up in advance.
