New committee members in 2020
To replace the advisors whose maximum term has expired, 20 new committee members from the fields of digital culture, design and architecture were appointed last month. In autumn last year, the Creative Industries Fund NL publicly circulated a vacancy for advisors holding a position of maker, architect, designer, researcher, critic or another expertise within the creative industry. The new advisors will reinforce the various advisory committees with their expertise for the next two years.
The members of the Advisory Committees of the Creative Industries Fund NL are experts from the field. Each committee is composed of a chair and a group of advisors who work as makers, architects, designers, researchers, critics or in another relevant discipline within the creative industry. They offer their advice on the substantive and qualitative aspects of the applications, in view of the regulations and goals of the Creative Industries Fund. This advice is offered to the Board, which then makes the decisions on the grant awards. New advisors are recruited every year.
The independent external Selection Committee consisted of Arzu Ayikgezmez (chair), Ben Schouten and Valentijn Bijvanck. More than 100 candidates having the required expertise who responded to the vacancy were proposed to the Selection Committee. When composing the various advisory committees and fulfilling the required profiles, the committee took account of expertise, diversity, complementarity and specific specialisms within the committee.
As of 1 January 2020, the following advisors have been appointed per grant programme:
Architecture: Simone Drost, Jutta Hinterleitner, Daan Petri, Peter Vanden Abeele
Digital culture: Sabine Wildevuur, Pawel Pokutycki, Sanneke Huisman
Design: Ista Boszhard, Joris Landman, Rogério Lira, Esther de Vries
Talent development: Harriet Mbonjani, Hellen van Rees, Simone Trum, Paulien Bremmer
Internationalisation: Ama van Dantzig, Arnout Meijer, Kelly Konings, Dre Urhahn
Festivals: Marjoleine Timmer
We thank all the departing chairs and committee members for their dedication and effort in the past years. We also thank all applicants for their interest and effort.
