Festivals and Public Presentations Grant Scheme for the Creative Industry

Festivals and Public Presentations Grant Scheme for the Creative Industry

Closing dates:

13 October 2021

Budget 2021: € 700,000

With the Festivals and Public Presentations Grant Scheme for the Creative Industry, the Creative Industries Fund NL supports large-scale festivals and special presentations. The goal is for them to contribute to a wider audience reach and increase and deepen the interest in Dutch design, architecture and digital culture.

The grant scheme replaces the Grant Programme for Festivals Creative Industries and the Open Call Exceptional Presentations. A stronger focus on reaching a wide audience and the allocation of the funds to five different regions and the Dutch Caribbean are the differences that stand out most.
This grant scheme is intended for applications from cultural institutions or organizations that focus on organizing special public programmes, such as festivals, exhibitions and events within the context of the Dutch creative industry.

The festival or presentation must take place in the Netherlands or the Dutch Caribbean and have an audience strategy in place that focuses on reaching at least a thousand physical visitors.

This grant scheme is specifically aimed at large-scale public events. Applications for smaller, more field-specific festivals and presentations can be submitted to the grant schemes for Design, Architecture or Digital Culture. Makers who are invited by a festival to create new work can also apply to the grant schemes for Design, Architecture or Digital Culture. They can do so by submitting a project application in their own name, together with a letter of intent from the festival concerned.
The grant scheme is intended for the preparation, setup and implementation of festivals and public presentations in the area of design, architecture and digital culture. The budget has to set out clearly which activities the grant application relates to.
Applications are assessed on the basis of the Festivals and Public Presentations Grant Scheme for the Creative Industry (PDF). You should therefore make sure that you are well aware of the conditions, criteria and objectives stated in it.

The Fund presents applications that meet all the formal requirements to be eligible for a grant to an independent advisory committee. In its advice, the advisory committee makes a statement about the overall quality and degree of consistency of the proposal's goal and setup. During the assessment the following criteria are applied:
a. the contribution the festival or the presentation will make to strengthening public interest in the creative industry in the region in which it takes place;
b. the degree to which the festival or presentation is of substantive significance to the creative industry;
c. the degree to which the proposal is effective in its setup, public strategy and level of support for the festival or the presentation;
d. the contribution the festival or presentation will make to diversity and inclusion within the field of the creative industry.
Applications are assessed on the basis of the Festivals and Public Presentations Grant Scheme for the Creative Industry (PDF). The advisory committee will process your application based on the application form and the attachments submitted. Please read Article 8 of the grant scheme for a list of the required attachments.
