Open Call Residency MMCA, Seoul 2017
The Mondriaan Fund and Creative Industries Fund NL are jointly offering work periods at the MMCA Residency run by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, South Korea: one for a visual artist and one for a designer. Submit your proposal by 30 September 2016 at the latest.
The work periods being offered are:
- 17 January to 28 April 2017
- 11 May to 30 August 2017
The preferred period should be mentioned in your proposal, and where possible this will be respected. The grant will be issued as of 1 December 2016, so that preparations for the residency can already be undertaken in the Netherlands.
Information about the residency
This residency is run by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in Seoul, South Korea. The MMCA Residency Changdong has nine studios, two exhibition spaces and a large open-air space where it is possible to work. The residents are part of an (inter)national residency programme, where alongside Korean artists there are usually two or three international artists in residence. The MMCA organizes a ‘field trip’ for the (inter)national artists and designers during each residency period. It also organizes Open Studios and there are regular studio visits, from MMCA’s curators and others.
